I attended a press conference today where Chattanooga was named to the Worlds Top 7 most Intelligent Communities by the Intelligent Community Forum – a highly regarded NY City think tank.
ICF seeks to share the best practices of the world’s Intelligent Communities in adapting to the demands of the Broadband Economy, in order to help communities everywhere find sustainable renewal and growth.
Chattanooga is on a quest to be named the Intelligent Community of the year in June. Previous recipients include: Tokyo, Seoul, NYC, Singapore, Taipei and Stockholm.
I recently moved to Chattanooga and have been very impressed with our technology and connectivity. Our city, through the Electric Power Board offers the fastest Internet connectivity in the world with speeds of 1 Gig per second through Fiber Optic connectivity to every home and business in the metro area.
Chattanooga also has a vibrant start up scene with a strong flow of venture capital activity in the technology, health care, financial services and logistics sectors. I am excited to part of this city and think we are well deserving of the top spot – Worlds Most Intelligent Community.
